Battlefield Studios has issued a formal response following community concerns regarding irregularities in recent Battlefield 6 cosmetic items. Players questioned whether generative AI contributed to these designs, though the developer did not confirm or deny the use of such technology in its statement.
Specific criticism focused on a McNeil skin featuring a misspelling, where the word "SECURITY" appeared as "SECUTY." The studio plans to rectify this visual error through an update scheduled for the Season 5, Phase 2 patch arriving in November.
The developer admitted that releasing visual bugs without immediate acknowledgment harms player trust. Consequently, the team is currently reviewing internal workflows and quality control processes to ensure future content aligns with their established standards for gear and world design.
Regarding the Midnight Mirage skin, which depicts a character carrying five pistols, the studio clarified this was an intentional design choice. They intended to emulate over-the-top action movie tropes, though they acknowledged that this creative decision appeared unintentional when released alongside other cosmetic anomalies.
