GungHo Online Entertainment has opened applications for a technical test of its upcoming Steam title, B.L.U.E. NOVA. This regional test, limited to Japan and other Asian territories, serves as a precursor to a planned global closed beta test. The game is a co-op bullet hell shooter scheduled for a free-to-play release in 2027.
The gameplay centers on the "Ring System," where players join allies in designated rings to trigger "Infinite Attack," providing enhanced power and unlimited ammunition. In the main "Tower Raid" mode, up to 30 players explore an open world to destroy the "Master Tower" while battling against a rogue AI on the planet Deeval.
The technical test aims to verify server connectivity and performance during large-scale multiplayer sessions. Participants are permitted to share gameplay videos and images on social media or via live streams. Those who join the test will receive an exclusive in-game item for the official release, though details regarding the item will be provided at a later date.
Applications are open via the Steam Playtest button on the game's store page until October 29, 2026, at 10:00 JST. Winners will be notified and granted access starting October 29 at 12:00 JST. The test sessions are scheduled to run from October 30 to November 1, 2026, between 19:00 and 23:00 JST each day.
