Grand Theft Auto 6 is currently experiencing record-breaking pre-order figures that significantly outperform major AAA titles released over the last six years. According to analysis from Sensor Tower, the upcoming Rockstar Games title is demonstrating market dominance.
The game has secured 148% more pre-orders than Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 achieved during the equivalent timeframe prior to its launch. This performance is notable given that the 2022 shooter previously recorded one of the strongest debuts in its franchise history.
As of October 13, Sensor Tower estimates that GTA 6 has reached 6.08 million pre-orders. This volume generates an estimated 594 million dollars in revenue, largely driven by consumers opting for the 100 dollar Ultimate edition.
Platform distribution shows a clear preference for Sony hardware, with 74% of pre-orders placed on PlayStation consoles. The remaining 26% of pre-orders were recorded on Xbox platforms.
