Rebel Wolves announced that the dark fantasy action RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker will receive a major 1.1 update next week. This patch addresses community concerns regarding the Steam Japanese version, which previously featured restricted gore and blood effects compared to international releases.
The update introduces over 1,100 fixes and gameplay improvements. Key additions include the Draught of Mind Rebirth for resetting skills, improved combat targeting, and enhanced movement responsiveness for shadow stepping. Additionally, players can now pet cats and dogs, and a new Story mode with combat assistance has been added.
Following the September 3 launch, users criticized the game for applying console-style censorship to the PC version, noting that vital narrative scenes and combat visuals were altered. The developer responded on September 4, promising to remove these restrictions, resulting in a swift resolution within approximately one month.
The game is currently available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. While the title is also listed on GOG.com, the page is reportedly inaccessible to users in Japan.
