Key information
Fantasy Flight Games has announced Arkham Horror: Remastered, the inaugural title in its new Vault Series. This project aims to reintroduce classic games from the company's backlog to modern audiences. The upcoming release serves as a revival of the beloved 2nd Edition, which has been out of print for several years.
Designer Dane Beltrami notes that while the core gameplay remains consistent, the team has implemented significant mechanical refinements. Key changes include combining the Arkham and Other World Encounter Phases into a single phase. Furthermore, the game features updated graphic design and clearer card text to reduce the need for frequent rulebook references during play.
The visual aesthetic has been modernized to align with the current style of the Arkham Horror: Living Card Game, creating a more cohesive look across the brand. Despite these updates, the developer confirmed that the Remastered version is not compatible with original 2nd Edition components due to the changes in card text and graphic design.
A crowdfunding campaign for the title will launch on Gamefound in a few days. Pledge options will include a bundle containing the base game and all expansions, or the ability to purchase the base game and specific expansions as individual add-ons.
