A new mobile processor from AMD, identified as the Ryzen AI 7 HX 455, has appeared in recent leaks. According to information shared by Golden Pig Upgrade on Weibo, this upcoming chip is expected to feature eight cores and 16 threads.
The APU reportedly integrates a 16 CU integrated graphics unit. This component is described as being identical to the Radeon 890M found in the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme, a processor that demonstrated capable gaming performance during testing of the ASUS ROG Ally X.
Regarding its architecture, the leaker suggests a layout comparable to the Z2 Extreme, potentially utilizing three Zen 5 cores and five Zen 5c cores. However, the new model is expected to offer a larger 24 MB L3 cache, compared to the 16 MB found in the Z2 Extreme.
These specifications indicate that the Ryzen AI 7 HX 455 may function as a reduced version of the existing Ryzen AI HX 470 APU. The latter chip currently features a configuration of four Zen 5 cores and eight Zen 5c cores.
