AMD has officially announced the expansion of its FSR 4.1 upscaling technology to a broader range of hardware, including Xbox Series S and X consoles, handheld devices like the Xbox Ally X, and various laptop configurations. This update follows the initial launch of the technology for Radeon RX 9000-series graphics cards in March.
The technology is designed to enhance performance across more than 300 supported titles, such as Cyberpunk 2077, Battlefield 6, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. AMD senior vice president Jack Huynh stated that the company has tuned and optimized the model to improve upon previous iterations of the upscaling work.
While Radeon RX 6000-series GPUs and specific Ryzen AI-powered devices receive the update today via Adrenalin Edition 26.10.1 drivers, Xbox users face a delay. Microsoft and AMD have not provided a specific release date for consoles, labeling the arrival as coming soon.
Xbox CTO Scott Van Vilet noted that the collaboration aims to provide developers with tools for better visual quality and performance. Future developments include Project Helix, which intends to utilize FSR Diamond to support upcoming gaming experiences.
