The Japan Anti-Abuse Working Group (JPAAWG) announced its annual conference, JPAAWG 9th General Meeting, scheduled for November 5 and 6, 2026. Held at Otemachi Place Hall & Conference in Tokyo, the event will feature a hybrid format with free attendance, though prior registration via EventRegist is required.
The meeting will address diverse security challenges, including AI advancements, international technical standards, and evolving messaging environments. Experts from organizations like M3AAWG and DMARC.org will join domestic professionals and government agencies to discuss these critical 2026 themes.
Key sessions include a keynote by M3AAWG Board Chair Tom Bartel on mobile messaging fraud and AI-driven threats. Additionally, Alice Cornell and Tanya Plaza will present on optimizing email deliverability as major providers like Gmail and Apple Mail increasingly utilize AI for message summarization and prioritization.
The second day features government sessions involving the National Police Agency and Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications. Furthermore, Hornetsecurity’s Yoshitaka Hirano will discuss next-generation email protocols, covering recent developments like DMARCbis and ongoing debates surrounding DKIM2 and sender policies.
JPAAWG highlights that the event offers practical, hands-on learning regarding DNS, DMARC reporting, and related technologies like BIMI and MTA-STS. Since its 2018 inception as the Japanese region of M3AAWG, the organization has consistently seen high demand for its high-quality technical sessions.
