Capcom producer Akihito Kadowaki has indicated a personal desire to see remasters of Onimusha 3 and Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams. Following the successful launch of the new title Way of the Sword, which surpassed 1 million sales on its first day, Kadowaki noted that the positive fan reception makes him feel that bringing these older titles to modern platforms would be a great move for the series.

While these comments do not constitute an official company commitment, the author suggests the response was notably more direct than typical industry caution. The potential for a remaster of Onimusha 3 has historically been viewed as difficult due to the licensing costs and complexities surrounding the likeness of French actor Jean Reno. However, Reno previously stated last year that he would be open to reprising his role in the project.

Capcom has increasingly focused on PC releases and revitalizing its back catalog, a strategy that has proven successful with previous remasters like Dead Rising and the first two Onimusha games. Given the company's stated interest in reactivating intellectual properties and the strong performance of its PC portfolio, the author posits that remastering the remaining entries could serve as a logical bridge between current and future releases.
