The independent development team TU Studio recently secured the Gold Award at the Bahamut 2026 ACG Creation Contest for their project, LOP: Whitefall. This 2D side-scrolling Metroidvania features a unique focus on procedural physical destruction, allowing players to dismantle enemies and environments in real-time.
The game replaces traditional health bars with a system where every pixel can be destroyed. Players can target specific enemy components to disable them, such as destroying a drone's wing to cause a crash or removing parts of a rolling bomb to stop its movement. This mechanic extends to environmental interaction, enabling creative solutions for navigation and puzzle-solving.
Judges praised the title for its mature integration of gameplay, art, and level design, noting its high commercial potential and addictive quality. While the core experience was lauded for its depth, reviewers noted that the world-building currently leaves room for further expansion.
TU Studio plans to release a public demo around the end of this year, with the full version expected to launch later next year. Interested players can currently add the game to their Steam wishlist.
