Deep Field has revealed a comprehensive two-year development roadmap for the sci-fi survival title Abiotic Factor, extending support through 2027. Following the game's 1.0 launch last July, the studio plans to release a series of updates, including a winter-themed content drop and the paid expansion titled Entropic Break.
Community Update 5 will introduce official modding capabilities, featuring a dedicated launcher, proprietary creation tools, and an in-game browser for sharing content. Players will be able to modify items, gear, pets, and enemies. This update also adds a multi-quest journal system, balance tweaks, and a new frog pet.
The upcoming winter update focuses on smaller additions, such as a brewing bench for festive drinks and the ability to cultivate trees in soil plots for self-sustaining farming. Meanwhile, the Entropic Break DLC will transport players to the Leaf Test Facility. This paid expansion includes new portal worlds, fishing mechanics, boats, and crossover content.
The developer highlights that one of the new portal worlds will be their largest to date, described as an eldritch, meat-based dimension. While the game continues to receive post-launch support, the author notes their positive personal experience with the title's survival gameplay earlier this year.
