Developer House House has confirmed that its co-op puzzle adventure Big Walk will not be released on Xbox consoles. The studio, known for Untitled Goose Game, stated that this decision is a direct result of its support for the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement.
The game, which launched earlier this year on PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2, has received significant critical praise. IGN awarded the title a 9/10, highlighting its rewarding co-op gameplay, clever puzzles, and the emergent moments found while exploring its vast open world with friends.
House House explained that the BDS movement designates Microsoft and its gaming division as priority boycott targets due to the company's work with the Israeli government. The studio intends to maintain this stance until Microsoft or Xbox are removed from the movement's list of targets.
The developers acknowledged that excluding Xbox contradicts their goal of enabling groups of friends to play together. While expressing disappointment regarding the situation, the studio stated that it believes in the power of collective action to influence major corporations.
