Key information
Ubisoft has announced plans to reduce its German workforce by approximately 100 employees. The proposed cuts affect studios located in Düsseldorf, Berlin, and Mainz.
The company is currently in discussions with the Works Council regarding a voluntary departure plan. Management stated these organizational changes are intended to better position the studios for future projects.
While the exact number of affected staff remains unconfirmed, reports suggest over half of the reductions will occur at the Düsseldorf location. Negotiations regarding potential severance formulas are ongoing, though no final agreement has been reached.
These measures are part of a wider cost-reduction initiative that has already seen the closure of several global offices and the cancellation of six titles. This restructuring follows previous workforce reductions at other international locations.
