FuRyu’s upcoming survival third-person shooter, Anomalith, is scheduled for release on October 29, 2026. The game features a world inspired by the Showa era, where players explore an "otherworld" created by anomalous phenomena. Scenario writer Romeo Tanaka, known for works like Cross†Channel, joined the project after being contacted through CoroCoro Comic.
Tanaka noted that the game involves navigating various system limitations inherent to the action genre. While he initially aimed to minimize cutscenes in favor of interactive storytelling, he admitted to compromising on this approach to ensure effective pacing. The narrative focuses on a heroic protagonist facing harsh conditions, moving away from pure horror toward "anomalous action."
Reflecting on his creative process, Tanaka described Anomalith as a story about "crossing a line." He expressed a personal preference for narratives involving "irreversible events," a theme he believes may have naturally permeated his writing for this title. He emphasized that he does not wish to dictate how players should feel, preferring that they experience the atmosphere and characters freely.
Anomalith is set to launch on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. A demo version for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 became available on October 8.
