Capcom announced on October 22 that its CAPCOM ID service suffered unauthorized access, resulting in the exposure of approximately 11,774,247 customer records globally. The service is utilized for various web platforms and online titles such as Street Fighter 6.

The compromised data includes email addresses and system-specific identifiers, such as account creation dates, login history, and IP addresses. Additionally, 43 accounts had personal details like birth dates, gender, and nicknames exposed. In 196 instances, unauthorized parties successfully changed account passwords.

Capcom confirmed that user-set passwords and credit card information were not leaked. The company reset the passwords for the 196 affected accounts. While services remain operational, Capcom warns users to be cautious of potential phishing attempts using the leaked information.

Following the discovery of suspicious activity on October 19, Capcom implemented emergency measures and notified authorities by October 21. The company is currently contacting affected users and has established a dedicated inquiry line to address concerns as it continues to strengthen security protocols.
