CD PROJEKT RED announced Update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077, scheduled for release on October 22. This update, titled the Edgerunners 2 Update, coincides with the Netflix release of the animation Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2. The patch will be available for free on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a release for Nintendo Switch 2 expected shortly after.
A major gameplay addition is the ability to dual-wield pistols and revolvers, supported by new perks. Players can even dual-wield Jackie’s iconic Nue pistols, and a new dual-wielding pose is being added to Photo Mode. However, the developer clarified that dual-wielding Sir John Phallustiff is not supported.
The update introduces cross-platform Mod support via mod.io, allowing users on PC, Mac, PS5, PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S to browse and install mods directly through an in-game menu. Previously, modding was restricted to the PC platform.
Additional features include new outfit sets, previously NPC-exclusive hairstyles for V, and customization options for arm cyberware like Mantis Blades. Console players will gain the ability to adjust their field of view, and save data will now be grouped by play session. Furthermore, the update adds new quests and the Night City Prison area.
