Actor Olivier Richters, known for his role as Zangief in the upcoming Street Fighter movie, has publicly expressed his desire to portray the character Tyr in Prime Video’s live-action God of War series. Richters, who stands over seven feet tall, believes his physical stature makes him a fitting candidate for the role.
Richters previously auditioned for the role of Kratos, reaching the final stages of the casting process before the part was awarded to Dave Bautista. He noted that his height, measured at 7'2", might have been a factor in his suitability for Kratos, as he would significantly tower over other characters in the production.
The actor has confirmed that his agent has formally communicated his interest in the Tyr role to the production team. While it remains uncertain whether the character will appear in the first or second season of the show, Richters remains hopeful about the possibility of joining the project in the future.
Currently, Richters is focused on his performance as Zangief. He is actively training with professional players in Street Fighter 6, aiming to master the character both on screen and in competitive gaming tournaments.
