Sony Interactive Entertainment has unveiled the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition Midnight Black, a new model specifically designed for the Japanese market. The console is scheduled for release on November 19.
The device is a color variant of the existing Japanese-exclusive Digital Edition. It is intended for domestic use, supporting only the Japanese language and requiring a PlayStation account registered to the Japan region.
Hardware specifications remain consistent with previous models, featuring an 8-core, 16-thread AMD CPU, an RDNA-based GPU, 16GB of main memory, and an 825GB internal SSD. While it lacks an optical drive, users can attach a separately sold Midnight Black disc drive, which also launches on November 19.
Pre-orders for the console begin on October 20. Additionally, purchasers are eligible for a promotion that extends the standard one-year manufacturer warranty to two years, provided they apply by March 31, 2027.
