On October 22, 2026, developer YukimiSoft launched the PC visual novel titled if you stay. The game is currently available for free to all players.
Set in the winter of 1999, the narrative explores themes of adolescent drama, nostalgia, and the vulnerability of having one's true self exposed. The story follows Fumiko, a former student council president who decides to leave her hometown to become an idol in Tokyo after her secret relationship with her girlfriend, Mika, is revealed by a friend.
The game features 16-bit pixel art reminiscent of Japanese romance titles from the PC-98 era, rendered at a modern resolution. Players navigate the final hours before Fumiko's departure, engaging in a last date with Mika. Dialogue choices allow players to influence the relationship, potentially leading to conflict, with unique CGs and conversations tied to different endings.
Mika is depicted as an introverted girl from a wealthy family who struggles to express her emotions regarding Fumiko's impending departure. Prospective players should note that the PC version of if you stay does not currently support the Japanese language.
