CD Projekt Red has unveiled a substantial update for Cyberpunk 2077, introducing a new dual-wielding skill for pistols and revolvers, cross-platform mod support, and fresh story content. The update is scheduled to arrive on 22nd October for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, with a Nintendo Switch 2 release following shortly after.
The update adds the "Clampdown" side quest, a prequel to the Edgerunners 2 series, alongside a new radio station featuring tracks from the anime. Players can also engage in "Night City Tours," a mystery-focused quest narrated by Richard Night, and discover 12 new Minor Arcana tarot cards hidden throughout the city.
New gameplay mechanics include a dual-wielding perk in the Cool tree and "Glamdocs," which allow players to customize the visual appearance of their cyberware. Additionally, the game now features cross-platform mod support via Mod.io, enabling players to browse and install mods directly from an in-game menu on supported platforms.
Technical enhancements include a console field of vision slider, DLSS 4.5 support, and MetalFX frame interpolation for Mac. Performance optimizations have been implemented for Ray Tracing and the PlayStation 5 Pro, while various bug fixes address issues with quest progression and HDR settings.
