CD Projekt Red and co-developer Virtuos are releasing update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077 on October 22nd. This patch coincides with the recent release of the second Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime series, introducing content themed around the show.
The update adds the prequel quest Clampdown, which provides gear from the anime, and a new radio station featuring music from both Edgerunners seasons. Additionally, players can access Welcome to Paradise, a lore-focused quest involving mystery-solving and lectures from Night City founder Richard Night.
Combat mechanics expand with the Double Trouble perk, enabling the dual wielding of power pistols and revolvers. According to Paweł Sasko, this feature is restricted to power handguns to maintain game balance. Furthermore, players can now visit five new glamdoc vendors to apply 40 alternative visual styles and color customizations to hand cyberware like mantis blades.
Update 2.5 also implements cross-platform modding support, aimed at simplifying the modification process for console users. While this patch adds significant content, the developer has not indicated that this will be the final update for the title.
