Sega has unveiled its second-year content roadmap for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, following the game's world championship finals in New York. The update includes a mix of free content and a premium Season Pass, aiming to extend the game's lifecycle after initial commercial performance failed to meet expectations.
Free updates introduce a 1v1 Duel mode, gadget system enhancements, and new playable characters including Aigis from Persona 3 and Bayonetta. The Duel mode features a strategic Turbo gauge and item management, with various match types available. Additionally, a new Mastery Plate allows for amplified gadget effects, supported by 15 new gadgets launching on day one.
The Season Pass 2 offers six premium DLC packs featuring external franchises. Highlights include a Godzilla circuit, Evangelion pilots Rei and Asuka, and a Final Fantasy VII Remake pack from Square Enix. Other collaborations include Sanrio and Sega-themed content. The pass is priced at 29.99 €.
Sega has permanently reduced the price of the standard edition to 39.99 € and the Digital Deluxe edition to 59.99 €. A new Year 2 Digital Deluxe edition is also available for 59.99 €. Existing characters will now appear as AI opponents in both offline and online modes.
