Key information

Taito has unveiled a new Dragon Quest-themed Newton’s cradle featuring Metal Slimes. This decorative item is scheduled to debut as a prize in Japanese arcades beginning October 24, 2026, as confirmed by the company's official social media channels.

The device stands approximately five inches or 13cm tall and operates using standard physics principles. Each of the swinging spheres is adorned with a Metal Slime figure. Users can pull back an end ball to initiate a kinetic chain reaction, causing the opposite end to swing in response to the transferred momentum.

This release follows a history of Taito-produced Dragon Quest arcade prizes, including a floor cleaner, a runaway toy, and a computer mouse. Historically, these specific promotional items have not received official worldwide releases following their initial Japanese launch.

While no North American retailers currently offer the cradle, there is speculation that specialty shops like Aitai Kuji might stock it in the future. Meanwhile, the franchise continues its expansion with the upcoming launch of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World, arriving on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X, and both Switch consoles on December 3, 2026.
