Apple has officially introduced HomeView, its inaugural smart speaker featuring a 7-inch Liquid Retina display. Designed for home entertainment and smart home management, the device is available as a speaker unit or a wall-mounted screen version.

The speaker utilizes an aluminum chassis available in black, gold, silver, and pink. Internally, it houses dual full-range drivers, a down-firing woofer, and dual passive radiators. It includes spatial awareness technology to automatically calibrate audio based on room placement.

The 1080 x 1080 IPS display connects via a stainless steel spherical hinge. It features a camera for FaceTime and facial recognition, allowing the device to personalize content for up to 6 registered family members. Additionally, it incorporates proximity sensing to adjust information density based on user distance.

HomeView replaces traditional Siri with a new AI capable of context-aware conversations and screen perception. Priced at US$ 299, the device is currently available for pre-order in the United States, with shipping scheduled for November 13. Taiwan availability remains to be announced.
