Hello Games has officially opened pre-registration for the iOS version of its open-world adventure game, No Man's Sky, on the App Store. The title is scheduled for release on October 28, with a free trial available at launch to allow players to experience the game's prologue before purchasing the full version.
The iOS release is a complete version of the game rather than a simplified port, featuring all major updates released over the past decade, including the recent COSMOS and Voyagers updates. The game utilizes real-time procedural generation to create its infinite universe directly on the device, keeping the total file size under 4GB.
To accommodate mobile hardware, the developers rebuilt the control scheme from scratch for touchscreens, though the game also supports external controllers, keyboard and mouse on iPad, and TV projection. Certain limitations exist: Planetary Settlements are restricted to iPhone 15 Pro and newer models, and the mobile version does not support multiplayer functionality.
The game is optimized to run on devices as old as the iPhone 11 and 3rd generation iPad Air.
