Developer soyukke announced the Steam title Maru Kaite Dokan!, a tower defense game supporting 2 to 8 players. Set on a notebook, the game tasks players with protecting their own castle while deploying hand-drawn characters to attack opponents.
Players use ink to draw defensive structures, where specific shapes dictate function. Circles become turrets, lines form walls, and triangles act as mines. Drawing a spiral creates a vortex turret that disorients enemies, while rectangles can manifest as blankets that put enemies to sleep.
Strategic depth is provided by size and resource management. Larger drawings increase power and range, but all structures consume ink. Players must balance their creations, as reckless drawing may cause malfunctions. Defeating enemies grants ink and allows players to select upgrade cards for bonuses like increased damage or reduced costs.
The game is currently in development using the Godot engine. A single-player demo is available on itch.io via web browsers, and the Steam page is open for wishlisting. The game features scaling damage numbers that can reach extreme values.
