The Romancing Saga 2026 project, a collaboration between Saga Prefecture and Square Enix, officially launched on October 12, 2026, and is scheduled to run until March 22, 2027. This marks the 12th year of the partnership, which aims to promote the region's charm through various initiatives, including character-themed manhole covers, traditional crafts, and local food culture.
A central feature of this year's event is the Romancing Saga Training Dojo, which offers workshops across eight areas in the prefecture. Participants can engage in traditional crafts such as woodworking in Morodomi, painting local Yumino dolls in Takeo, or crafting wind chimes using Nabeshima ware techniques in Imari. These activities are designed to connect the game's concept of learning skills with the authentic craftsmanship found in Saga.
The project also features new collaborative merchandise and food, including the Flash Ramen Bowl, which reveals character art as the user eats. Additionally, the Romancing Saga Road stamp rally encourages visitors to complete missions to earn rank certifications. While the project is centered in Saga, some collaborative menus are available in Tokyo and Osaka. Officials advise checking the official website or social media for specific availability, as some popular items have already seen high demand.
