During the opening chapter of Final Fantasy: Resonance, players encounter various tutorial bosses, but the esper Siren presents a significant difficulty spike. Located at the summit of a spiral tower, this adversary is capable of dealing heavy damage and inflicting the Charm status effect on the player's party.
The primary challenge arises when Siren reaches approximately half health and utilizes the Allure attack. This move inflicts Charm on the entire party, forcing characters to attack each other. This mechanic is particularly dangerous on Normal or Expert difficulty settings, often leading to a swift defeat if the player is unprepared.
To counter this, players can equip Monk's Prayer Beads, which provide Charm nullification. These accessories can be purchased from an armor merchant in Granport Harbor for 1,500 gil each, discovered in a chest within the tower, or earned by completing the Secrets Unearthed sidequest from Chloe in Felicitas.
Alternative mitigation strategies include equipping the character Leah to grant a party member the Nullify Charm passive, or utilizing the Esuna spell and Pray ability to cure ailments. However, players should note that Siren can cast Silence, which renders the Pray ability unusable.
