Developer STUDIO909 has released a Steam demo for the mystery adventure game Quiet Express Cabin 909. Announced during The MIX Fall Showcase 2026, the title is directed by Kazuhide Oka, known for works like Natsuno Kanata. The game is scheduled for a 2027 release on PC.
Players navigate a transcontinental train journey spanning seven days, inspired by titles such as Blue Prince and Road 96. The core mechanic involves reconfiguring the train's layout by choosing between randomized car types, such as dining or cargo cars, to unlock secret routes and solve puzzles. Players can also utilize items to add options or reroll their choices.
The narrative features a world where various species, including beastmen and homunculi, coexist. Players must interact with passengers, helping them resolve personal regrets and life struggles to uncover the mystery of the elusive Cabin 909. These interactions are essential for piecing together the train's secrets.
The journey is defined by a recurring tragedy: the train derails and burns on the seventh day, killing everyone on board. This triggers a time loop, resetting the player to the first day. The current demo, which lasts approximately 30 minutes, allows players to explore multiple methods to prevent this catastrophic accident.
