Kalypso Media Japan has announced that the Japanese version of the dictatorship simulation game Tropico 7 will be released on January 28, 2027. The title will be available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with day-one support for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
The game features a new terraforming system allowing players to reshape terrain or create new islands. Players manage their nation across four eras—colonial, world war, cold war, and modern—while balancing the demands of various political factions and foreign powers. The game includes a five-part campaign, ten additional scenarios, and a revamped military system for handling rebellions and invasions.
A playable demo is currently available on Steam and the Microsoft Store, featuring the first campaign mission, "Little Great Britain." However, save data from this demo cannot be transferred to the full product. Pre-orders for the digital version are open, offering a 10% discount and a "World Conquest" costume DLC.
Physical editions are available for pre-order, including the PlayStation 5 Deluxe Edition and the Nintendo Switch 2 Special Edition, both priced at 9,780 yen. The Deluxe Edition for digital platforms includes 48-hour early access. These special editions contain various digital bonuses, such as unique palace skins and character outfits, though the original soundtrack is excluded from the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
