Nippon Ichi Software announced on October 22, 2026, that the second free update for the life simulation game Hono-Gurashi no Niwa will be released on October 27. The title is available on PC, PS5, Switch, and Switch 2.
The update introduces a birthday system where players can set their character's birthday. Once conditions are met, residents with a friendship level of three or higher will offer congratulations and special gifts on the designated date.
New gameplay tools include a seed sower that distributes seeds, seedlings, and fertilizer across three forward tiles. This tool can be upgraded at an anvil to increase its range. Additionally, ten new water-related furniture items, such as bathtubs and toilets, are being added.
Further functional improvements are planned alongside this release. Looking ahead, the developer intends to launch paid DLC in the spring of 2027, which may feature new systems, scenarios, maps, and events.
