Japanese DIY YouTubers 'Ugokari' and 'Shiratsuru DIY' successfully completed a cross-country journey across Japan using a modified 'Anpanman' electric toy scooter. The project, which spanned from Kagoshima Prefecture to Cape Soya in Hokkaido, aimed to prove that the toy could be legally registered and driven on public roads.

The vehicle was extensively rebuilt over three months, featuring a reinforced steel frame, disc brakes, and essential safety equipment like headlights and turn signals. It was powered by 12 high-density solid-state batteries, providing a range of approximately 40 kilometers. The scooter was officially classified as a 'Gentsuki' (under 50cc) moped after the team coordinated with local authorities and police to ensure compliance with road regulations.

The nine-day expedition faced significant physical and interpersonal challenges. The riders endured extreme fatigue and uncomfortable postures, leading to internal team friction. Ugokari noted that the atmosphere was the most tense of any project they had undertaken. Despite these hardships, the team maintained a strict schedule, often driving through the night to meet ferry deadlines.

Disaster struck just 3.5 kilometers from the finish line when the scooter's battery wiring failed. Undeterred, the team carried the vehicle the remaining distance on foot. The resulting documentary video gained significant attention, with viewers praising the absurd yet passionate nature of the endeavor.
