Key information

Infinity Ward has launched early access for the DMZ extraction mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. While initial player feedback has been largely positive, users reported a critical issue where spawn points placed players directly in the path of enemy vehicles, leading to immediate deaths.

Reports from Reddit users highlighted the severity of this bug, noting that players were being flattened by AI patrols immediately following the infil cutscene. Because DMZ features persistent inventory mechanics, these early deaths resulted in the loss of all equipped gear, leaving players without recourse if they lacked specific revival equipment.

The developer has since addressed this concern through a recent patch. According to the official patch notes, Infinity Ward implemented a fix for instances where enemy AI could run over players during the infilling process, effectively removing the lack of spawn protection that previously plagued the mode.

The full launch of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, including traditional multiplayer, is scheduled for Friday, 23rd October. The game will be available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Switch 2, with the campaign already receiving favorable reception from the community.
