Key information
Developer BetaDwarf launched a free demo for the extraction action RPG Vaultbreakers on October 9. The title is available on PC via Steam and supports Japanese language display. Players take on the role of Vaultbreakers, tasked with infiltrating the floating fortress Dragon Vault to recover cursed artifacts while uncovering its secrets.
The game features PvPvE exploration where players battle monsters and other parties. Combat involves analyzing enemy patterns, such as animal-like creatures or golems, and utilizing environmental objects like explosive cacti to ambush rivals. Players can switch between high-risk PvPvE and safer PvE modes, with progress shared across both, allowing for flexible gameplay strategies.
Success depends on extracting artifacts to a base for equipment upgrades, though items are only retained upon successful survival. The current demo allows solo or cooperative play with two characters, though PvPvE is not yet accessible. An alpha test scheduled from October 15 to October 22 will introduce the PvPvE mode and additional characters, though some parts may lack Japanese support.
