Blizzard is conducting a server stress test for World of Warcraft: Forever ahead of the game's full launch next month. This event allows all users with a World of Warcraft account to access the specific test client via the Battle.net launcher without requiring an active subscription or special edition purchase.
Participants will begin with fresh characters, limiting gameplay to the initial leveling zones. The test aims to simulate launch day conditions, where players may encounter high population density, leading to intense competition for quest objectives and experience points.
The stress test is scheduled for specific windows: 2 pm - 6 pm PDT for the West Coast US, 5 pm - 9 pm EDT for the East Coast US, and 10 am - 2 pm NZDT for New Zealand. During this period, regular beta servers will remain offline.
Following the test, regular beta servers will resume operation until Friday. While the developer hopes to improve stability, the author notes that long queue times are expected when the game officially goes live on November 4 for all subscribers.
