CD Projekt has released a significant update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Remastered, aiming to refine the visual presentation of the RPG. This patch addresses community feedback regarding the game's lighting and post-processing effects.
Prior to this update, players on consoles expressed dissatisfaction with excessive bloom effects, which reportedly created a washed-out appearance and obscured shadows present in the original title. While PC users previously had the ability to disable this setting, console players lacked such options, leading to widespread discussion on platforms like Reddit and Steam forums.
The update, version 5.01, measures approximately 5.5 GB on consoles and 8.5 GB on PC. Beyond these adjustments, CD Projekt is developing a version for the Nintendo Switch 2, which aims to provide visual uniformity across platforms, including specific enhancements for image clarity and sharpness.
Looking ahead, the studio plans to release a new expansion for The Witcher 3 titled Songs of the Past in 2027, described as being as ambitious as Blood & Wine. Furthermore, The Witcher 4 is currently scheduled for release in 2028.
