Devon Pritchard, President of Nintendo of America, recently addressed speculation regarding the arrival of GTA 6 on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. While the title is currently confirmed only for PS5, Xbox Series, and PC, Pritchard emphasized that any decision regarding a potential port rests entirely with Rockstar Games and Take-Two.
Despite the lack of a formal announcement, Pritchard noted that the hardware specifications of the Switch 2 are sufficient to handle the technical demands and graphical requirements of a game as complex as GTA 6. She also addressed concerns regarding the game's adult rating, suggesting it does not inherently preclude the title from the platform.
Nintendo maintains a positive relationship with Take-Two, as evidenced by the availability of titles like Red Dead Redemption and GTA: The Trilogy on their current hardware. The company appears open to hosting the highly anticipated game, highlighting the unique advantage of the Switch 2's portable nature.
While no concrete plans have been confirmed, the possibility remains a subject of industry discussion. In the meantime, Nintendo users have other upcoming releases to look forward to, including a remake of Ocarina of Time scheduled for November.
