GIGABYTE has initiated BIOS updates across its entire B760 and H610 motherboard series to support upcoming LGA1700 processors. The company anticipates these new chips will launch in early 2027.

The firmware updates, which include CPU microcode enhancements, apply to both DDR4 and DDR5 compatible motherboards. GIGABYTE asserts it is the first manufacturer to extend this support to every model within its B760 and H610 lineups.

These updates are significant because they suggest continued DDR4 compatibility for future Intel processors. While newer platforms like LGA1851 and the upcoming LGA1954 socket for Nova Lake-S are restricted to DDR5, these LGA1700 updates provide a potential path for users seeking more affordable DDR4-based alternatives.

Although Intel has not officially announced these processors, reports indicate they may be "Raptor Lake Next" chips. Owners can currently download the necessary firmware from GIGABYTE's website, though the company has not confirmed if similar updates will arrive for Z790, Z690, or B660 boards.
