Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 has secured the top position on Steam's global and US Top Sellers charts just over one day before its official launch. The title surpassed Counter-Strike 2, marking a significant rise of 18 spots globally and 25 spots in the US due to high pre-order volume.

The game is currently accessible via Advanced Access for those who purchased the $69.99 base version or the $99.99 Vault Edition. Despite its premium pricing, the title has already garnered 5,116 user reviews on the platform, maintaining a "Very Positive" 91% rating.

Activision's chief marketing officer described the game as an epic conclusion to the current Modern Warfare series. The studio aims to deliver a more realistic, grounded experience by avoiding "clowny skins" and restoring the gritty edge historically associated with the franchise.

This success arrives despite the "Mostly Negative" reception of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which holds only a 37% positive rating. Other titles like Cyberpunk 2077, Helldivers 2, and Phantom Blade Zero also saw significant movement on the Steam charts this week.
