Polden Publishing announced on October 20, 2026, that a playable demo for the PC title Salty Dog is currently available. The trial version is being distributed as part of the Steam Next Fest, which runs until October 27.
Developed by Crossbridge Game Studios, the game features a 2D cooperative action experience for up to four players. Participants control tough, rugged canine divers exploring a polluted deep-sea environment, utilizing firearms to fend off marine creatures while scavenging for treasures and debris.
Success requires team coordination, as players must assign specific roles such as treasure transport, combat defense, submarine piloting, and navigation. Larger items necessitate attaching hooks and cables to haul them back to the surface.
The dogs operate from a ruined base on the beach. By returning salvaged loot, players can restore the facility, which unlocks new characters, weapon and costume customization options, and submarine upgrades.
