Developer Funktronic Labs has officially announced that the action RPG Scramble Knights Online will enter early access on October 27, 2026. The title, which was originally revealed as a 32-player battle royale project in 2025, has undergone a significant genre shift to become a cooperative PvE-focused adventure.
Inspired by The Legend of Zelda, the game tasks players with exploring the kingdom of Terracotta as apprentice knights. Gameplay involves navigating dungeons to solve puzzles, uncovering secrets, and defeating bosses to secure rare loot. Players can then return to a town square to upgrade equipment, fish, and recruit allies for future quests.
The game features a shared online world supporting up to 32 players, with the ability to form parties of up to four people for cooperative play. Combat utilizes a variety of unique weapons and abilities. A unique mechanic includes a chicken mode, where defeated players transform into chickens to spectate their teammates.
Scramble Knights Online will be available on PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, as well as on Xbox Series X|S. The title is confirmed for Xbox Game Pass. While local couch co-op is planned for online play, it will not be available during the beta test. A free demo is currently accessible on Steam.
