Shochiku Games and rokaplay select have announced that the digging adventure game A Game About Digging A Hole Together will be released on December 4, 2026. Developed by Mipumi Games, this title serves as a sequel to the original A Game About Digging A Hole, incorporating player feedback requesting longer digging sessions and cooperative gameplay.
The core gameplay loop involves digging, selling discovered resources, upgrading equipment, and digging deeper. The development team has refined the game's flow for smoother performance and introduced new tools, diverse terrains, and hidden secrets. The game utilizes voxel technology derived from the title Solarpunk to facilitate its free-form digging mechanics.
A major feature of this sequel is support for online cooperative multiplayer for up to four players. The game includes cross-platform functionality, allowing users on different hardware to play together. It will be available on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store, as well as on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The game is priced at 700 yen and will also be available through Game Pass upon its release on December 4, 2026. While designed for multiplayer collaboration, the title also supports solo play for those who prefer to explore the underground world alone.
