Activision Publishing, Inc. is set to release Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 for PlayStation 5 on October 23, 2026. This latest entry in the long-running first-person shooter series focuses on a global conflict centered on the Korean Peninsula, featuring a narrative where Captain Price has gone rogue.
The game introduces the Ballistic Authority technical foundation, which integrates weapon movement, ballistics, and operator posture into a unified combat system. Visual fidelity has been enhanced through improved VFX, lighting, and character rendering, while the multiplayer mode emphasizes grounded, precise combat with new animations and 12 core 6v6 maps.
A new feature called Killblock offers a dynamic training facility where combat areas are reconfigured across 500 patterns. Additionally, the DMZ mode provides an extraction-based experience in the region of Hajin, where players manage a Forward Operating Base that expands as they complete objectives, utilizing features like 3D printers and vendor stations.
The game is rated CERO Z for ages 18 and up. Pricing is set at 9,800 yen for the standard edition, while the Vault Edition is available for 13,200 yen, including additional operator packs and battle pass content. Digital pre-orders include early access to the campaign, which began on October 17, 2026.
