NetEase Games and Starry Studio released the free major update titled Forbidden Island for Once Human on October 22, 2026. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android.
The update introduces a new region centered on a massive living entity known as the King of the Sea Ruins. Players begin their journey at Cape Breeze, constructing custom vessels to navigate four dangerous maritime zones filled with anomalous phenomena and hostile creatures.
Shipbuilding mechanics allow players to assemble hulls, bows, and decks to create anything from small sailboats to massive mobile sea fortresses. These vessels can be further enhanced with upgraded propulsion systems and various armaments to tackle challenges like the tentacled Calamity Towers and resource-rich wandering ships.
The content follows a 21-day scenario split into two stages. Players first explore the seas and clear initial challenges, followed by a second stage featuring heightened difficulty and new threats. Purifying anomalies contributes to a server-wide progress gauge, which unlocks the final battle against the King of the Sea Ruins upon reaching 100 percent.
