Koei Tecmo Games has officially scheduled the release of the mystery adventure title The Apothecary Diaries: False Imperial Brother for March 18, 2027. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, with pricing starting at 8,580 yen.
As the first console adaptation of the anime series, the game follows the apothecary Maomao and the palace administrator Jinshi as they investigate complex incidents. The narrative is based on an original concept by author Natsu Hyuga, requiring players to control Maomao to gather evidence, organize information, deduce solutions, and perform medicine preparation.
Beyond the main story, players can engage in a character interaction system called the Personal Investigation Record. By fulfilling requests to deliver items like medicine, players increase their intimacy levels with various characters, which in turn unlocks exclusive side stories.
Pre-orders for the title opened on October 21. Alongside the standard version, the publisher has announced multiple special editions, including a Premium Box and a Special Premium Box, accompanied by the release of a new promotional video.
