Developer Kevin Lai has announced Into The Haunted Land, a cooperative horror exploration game slated for release on PC via Steam in the first quarter of 2027. Supporting one to six players, the title tasks teams with venturing into cursed ruins on a mysterious island to recover valuable items and meet specific quotas set by a guild.
The game utilizes an isometric perspective, requiring players to coordinate with teammates to collect loot while evading monsters and supernatural threats. Gameplay involves managing time constraints and environmental hazards, including a day-night cycle and shifting weather conditions that alter the danger levels of the ruins.
A core mechanic involves collecting cursed items that are essential for meeting quotas but impose significant debuffs, such as reduced movement speed or increased stamina consumption. Some items may even trigger transformative effects, like shrinking the player or turning them into a spider. Additionally, players can seek out rare omen items, which are required to reach the game's ending but significantly increase the difficulty of the expedition.
A free demo is currently available on Steam as part of the Steam Next Fest: October 2026 Edition. This version supports both solo and online co-op play, and progress made in the demo can be transferred to the full version upon its launch in 2027.
