Ysbryd Games announced that the cosmic horror title World of Horror will receive a free major update, version 1.2, by Halloween on October 31. The game, which features monochrome visuals inspired by Junji Ito, is set in the fictional port town of Shiokawa and explores Cthulhu-themed mysteries.
The update is expected to increase the game's total volume by approximately 20 percent. New content includes two ancient gods, 19 types of enemies, 30 items, and about 20 new injuries, mutations, or curses. Additionally, players will gain access to three new protagonists, 10 companions, and a new location called the Mountains.
Gameplay improvements are also planned, featuring a refreshed user interface, enhanced controls, and a reconstructed modding system. Furthermore, a new adventure-style scenario involving three missing students in the forest will be added, which incorporates multiple endings.
While the update is confirmed for the PC version, the announcement did not provide a release date for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch versions. Further information regarding the console ports is expected in future updates.
