SEGA has officially removed Total War: Shogun 2 Complete Edition from the Steam storefront just two days after its October 13 release. The decision follows a wave of overwhelming negative feedback from the community regarding the title's technical state.

The Complete Edition was intended to offer an enhanced experience, featuring three standalone campaigns spanning over 700 years of Japanese history. It included all major expansions, faction packs, and updates, alongside specific improvements designed for modern hardware.

Players reported significant issues, including numerous bugs and graphical upgrades that failed to meet expectations. SEGA and Creative Assembly acknowledged that the release did not align with their internal standards or player requirements, prompting the temporary removal while they investigate the underlying causes.

While the Complete Edition remains unavailable for new purchases, SEGA has restored the original version of the game to Steam. Users who already purchased the Complete Edition retain access to the software, and the developers intend to address the identified problems to ensure the product eventually meets the series' quality standards.
