Square Enix has released a location-based puzzle game titled Romancing SaGa 2 Revenge of the Seven: Enkan no Nyanya Eiyu powered by Catrip Yamanote Line. This collaborative project, which debuted on October 16, 2026, invites players to explore the Yamanote train line in real life.
To participate, players must purchase a dedicated kit available at NewDays stores located at Yamanote Line stations or through the Square Enix e-STORE. The kit contains essential items required to solve the various puzzles presented throughout the journey.
The game focuses on seven specific stations—Shinjuku, Shin-Okubo, Ikebukuro, Ueno, Shinagawa, Gotanda, and Ebisu—which serve as the inspiration for the Seven Heroes' names. By visiting these locations, players can collect digital cat-themed stamps featuring the Seven Heroes. Furthermore, linking the game with the JR East JRE WALLET app allows participants to earn digital coupons valid at partner shops along the route.
A special website is currently live, offering a free introductory puzzle for those interested in the experience. This initial challenge provides a glimpse into the game's mechanics before players commit to purchasing the full kit.
