Key information
Hello Games released the free 7.10 Forsaken update for No Man’s Sky on the 29th. This Halloween-themed expansion introduces eerie locations, including abandoned freighters and paleontology dig sites, where players can collect strange biological specimens and souvenirs.
The update adds new traversal and mission mechanics, such as seamless warp, allowing players to travel to nearby stars without opening the galaxy map. Additionally, players can undertake delivery missions at deep space outposts using gravity coils and corvettes.
Quality-of-life improvements include a radial menu for quick weapon and utility switching, alongside a minimal HUD mode that hides non-essential markers. Players must remain cautious while harvesting, as prolonged collection triggers the appearance of hostile 'Boundary Horrors.'
Collected items can be traded with the 'Forsaken Merchant' for organic ship modules, such as Hornet or Viper cockpits. Players can also earn the 'Mind Harvester' title, an exoskeleton suit, and the 'Larva Cannon' multi-tool. Simultaneously, a mobile version for iOS launched on the 29th, supporting iPhone 11 and iPad Air 3rd generation or newer.
